Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is one of the best options for a comfortable stay, especially if you’re on a tight budget but still want to enjoy Disney magic.Β This hotel is a must stay for those Disney movie fans out there. On this review, I will show some cool pictures of the hotel, my opinion on the room rates, and some food and shop options inside the resort.

GENERAL

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort opened in January 1999, and it was the third All-Star hotel to open its doors (four years after Sports and Music). Located in the Animal Kingdom Area, this resort gets its theme from different Disney movies. There are 5 sections in this resort: 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story, Fantasia, The Mighty Ducks, and Herbie: The Love Bug. All-Star Movies was refurbished in the past year and it now presents some very nice and modern rooms.Β

ROOMS

As with any All-Star Resort, what stands out, and reaaaally stands out, is the exterior of each section. When I first walked into this hotel I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. In fact, the Toy Story area is like walking around Andy’s room. All sections are great and it caters to everyone’s likes πŸ™‚

The rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies can accommodate up to 4 people in two double beds. In the new rooms, one of the beds is a Murphy one, which folds back and becomes the room table. There are also a couple of chairs, a TV, a phone, and a small fridge. The bathroom area has a sink and mirror, with a separate room for the bathtub and the toilet. In addition, you can find a hairdryer, a safe, and an ironing board. This is all you’ll need during your vacation at Disney World, I promise πŸ™‚

FOOD AND SHOPPING

All-Star Movies may not have THE greatest food in all the Value Resorts (I’ll leave that to Pop Century and Art of Animation, in my opinion). Buuuuut, I don’t complain because all Disney Value resorts have excellent Pasta Alfredo, and I’m more than happy with that πŸ™‚ This resort still has plenty of options and a wide variety of food for a Value hotel. Our breakfasts and dinners, which were the meals we always had at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, were perfect. You can find everything at the World Premiere Food Court, from burgers to Mickey-shaped waffles. This hotel offers some delicious options for all guests to enjoy πŸ™‚

And if you’re anything like me, who always forgets to buy something at the parks, you can do your shopping at Donald’s Double Feature store, the gift shop inside the Cinema Hall. And like in all other Resort gift shops, the one at Disney’s All-Star Music Movies offers the standard Disney Parks merchandising and, of course, some specific merch from the All-Star hotels.

ENTERTAINMENT & AMENITIES

Like in all other Value Resorts, Disney’s All-Star Movies offers Movies Under the Stars, a playground, the Reel Fun Arcade, a jogging trail, and two pools: the Fantasia Pool and theDuck Pond pool. The Disney Magical Express is the complimentary transportation to and from Orlando International Airport and there’s bus transportation to and from the parks. The only problem here is that the All-Star resorts share the same bus from the parks to the hotel, so they are usually crowded at night and this might delay your return home. Other than that, buses are the best option to move around Disney World.

ROOM RATES

One of the best things about Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is that it’s one of the cheapest hotels on-site, depending on the time of the year you visit. Room rates can range from 99UDS to around 200USD. This is definitely the resort to choose if you want to stay in the Disney Parks bubble all throughout your stay. It’s one of the resorts that resembles the parks the most, so if you’re looking for a break from that, then maybe Music or Sports is the best option for you. If not, Woody and Buzz are waiting for you!
